This week on the blog we’d like to share with you the bedrooms in our self-catering holiday apartment ‘The Rectory’, as seen in last month’s Dutch/Belgian magazine ‘Wonen Landelijke Stijl’.
The rooms are spacious, with white ceilings and terracotta floors. Rather than opting for new decorations, our interior designer Alexandra decided to re-use the soft furnishings from one of our previous projects ‘Bank Cottage’ in the Cotswolds. We feel it’s important not to throw anything away that’s still useful or beautiful just for the sake of creating something new. For the master bedroom we used curtains and cushions in our ‘Byron’ fabric in the colour ‘Midnight blue’, a midnight blue headboard and chair by sofa.com that had previously graced the master bedroom in ‘Bank Cottage’.
The second bedroom in ‘The Rectory’ has twin beds upholstered with our linen fabric ‘Garda Natural’. The curtains are made from our linen fabric ‘Summerbreeze Ivory’. The old French doors we placed in the middle also used to stand in the Bank Cottage’s master bedroom. But this time we attached two lamps to it. We even re-used the curtain holders. The frames on the wall display film images of beautiful Italian scenes taken by our in-house photographer ‘Rosie Reports’.
